Today, after several days of cruising south along the Pacific, we finally caught our first glimpse of New Caledonia off in the distance as we headed out to do our morning exercise on the back deck of the ship. It was an exciting moment, and everyone is looking forward to arriving on the island tomorrow and experiencing its beauty firsthand. Later in the morning, students participated in their fourth English lecture of the cruise and practiced giving and requesting information about Japan and New Caledonia, which it is hoped, will be useful when exploring the island and talking with locals, as well as when mingling with guests at the party on-board the ship the day after tomorrow. Afterwards, students gathered in their groups to practice and prepare for various events scheduled for the party. Judging by the quality of their preparations and practice sessions today, the party is sure to be a great success and a wonderful memory for both our New Caledonian guests and for all of us.
