Welcome to Noumea!
At last we have arrived in New Caledonia, and it is even more beautiful, exciting and wonderful that we could have dreamed. At about seven o’clock in the morning the Captain had the pilot steer the ship into the harbor, but not before we had a chance to see the famous and beautiful Amede Todai. It is one of the most famous landmarks of the Pacific and we were thrilled to get such a close glimpse of it!

As the students stood before the mast the ship was towed into the docks and moored at the wharf. The docking procedures took time, as usual, but that gave us a chance to get ready for a very active day. At 10:40 sharp roll call was taken and then we all left the ship to start a busy day that involved a four hour bus tour of the city and a picnic at the beach.

After the tour ended we had two hours of liberty before returning to the ship, and everyone really seemed to enjoy visiting the local shops and cafes. Back on board the Bosei Maru a delicious dinner was waiting, but of course the students had to work hard and fast to serve everyone. And after diner there will be a lot of study and practice taking place as we prepare for the exchange visit with the University of New Caledonia tomorrow morning and the Exchange Party on board the Bosei Maru in the evening.

Busy but happy, it is great to be in Noumea!

今日はニューカレドニアに上陸しました。パプアニューギニアとの景色や文化のギャップが激しすぎてびっくりしました。航海中に３度目の寄港地、すべての寄港地で出会う人々の人種が違い、世界観が広がりました。

長崎　佳世子 (東海大学文学部心理・社会学科）

港を見た瞬間、ヨットハーバーの美しさに思わずカメラを取り出した。今まで見た寄港地の中で最も現代的で、身近な感じがした。街中はお洒落でどのお店に入ろうか悩んだ。まだまだ見たことも聞いたこともない世界があるのかと思うと、すぐにも行きたくて心が躍り、うずうずする。

３つ目の寄港地ヌメアに到着しました。今日の市内研修ではヌメアの現代的な街並みや、美しい自然を見る事ができました。これからのグループ別計画研修が楽しみです。

New Caledoniaに到着しました！今までの寄港地と違い、何もかもが現代的に見えました。New Caledoniaらしいものから、フランスっぽいものまでたくさんのショップが並んでいて、とても楽しい一日でした。

市内見学でヌメアのさまざまな観光地を巡ることができてとても楽しい一日でした。街並みも可愛らしく、景色もきれいで感動しました。現地のスーパーには見たことのない商品がたくさんあり、その量の多さと価格に驚きつつ、わくわくしながら買い物を楽しみました。

ヌメアは街並みだけではなく、海や山のような自然も美しくとても感動しました。
今まで訪れた二つの寄港地よりも観光地として整備されており、博物館や水族館の他にもショッピングセンターやレストランが数多くあります。　とても一日では回りきれないほどに、魅力がたくさんある街だと感じました。

今までの国とはまた違い、ヌメアは街全体がとても自然豊かで美しく、様々なお店がたくさんあり、買い物に誘惑されます。
